Why Did You Start Coming to Fit4Mom?

As a doula, I've always been involved in supporting moms. Despite not being an avid exerciser, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I genuinely enjoyed the Fit4Mom classes. So, when I found out the franchise was up for sale, it felt like destiny, and I seized the opportunity!

Favorite Class

Honestly all of them. I feel like each class has something unique to offer and I've enjoyed participating in each of them.

Mom Hack

I am a big utilizer of "Toy rotation". I separate all of my children's toys into organized bins. I will then empty one bin into their room and play area then keep the other bins hidden and rotate them every few weeks. This keeps toys fresh and exciting without constantly buying new ones.

Coffee Order

I am a big-time Boba Tea fan but when I order from Starbucks I get a mocha Frappuccino with soy milk and no whip (since I'm vegan) and add hazelnut syrup. But I don't drink coffee on a regular basis

Why Did You Start Coming to Fit4Mom?

When I had my first child, I had been living in the USA for less than a year. I barely knew ten people and maybe only one other mom! I joined FIT4MOM classes and discovered an incredible community beyond just workouts. The support, the friendly smiles, the helping hand to push your stroller, and the phone numbers you can call anytime were invaluable.

Then COVID happened, and we moved to a different area. It was a very tough period for me. I got pregnant again and searched for a FIT4MOM franchise in my new location but couldn't find one. Somehow, life brought FIT4MOM back to me. I loved it so much!

FIT4MOM has always been a significant part of my life as a mom, and I hope it will continue to be, even as my kids grow older!

Favorite Class

Body Boost, 100% !!! I am a fitness addict and I'd do anything to push myself as far as I can!

Favorite Workout Move

Haha, I have to say burpees right!

Mom Hack

"Think like a dad!" It can relieve so much stress and mental load. Heading out without a car full of snacks, water, diapers, etc., feels liberating. Guess what? We'll figure it out! I always keep two diapers and a pack of wipes in the car—just in case. Sometimes I plan and organize everything, and other times, I just figure it out as I go!

Why did you start coming to Fit4Mom?

After having my daughter, I left my job as a teacher and became a stay at home mom. I was always on the lookout for things for us to do together and loved that Fit4Mom was an opportunity to work on myself, to connect with other moms, and for my baby to have some fun too!

Favorite class

Stroller Strides or Stroller Barre! Love classes that focus on strengthening our core, which is so important for us mamas!

Favorite Workout Move

Any lower body exercises- lunges, squats, you name it!

Mom hack

Look at everything like it’s an adventure for both you and baby! Going out and trying new things with a new baby can seem daunting, but look at it as an opportunity for you and your baby to bond and learn together!

Coffee order

Iced espresso or cold brew! Anything strong to keep me energized while chasing after my little one!

Why Did You Start Coming to Fit4Mom?

After 7 years of teaching, I became a stay at home mom. I was looking for a way to engage with other moms in a fun way and found Fit4mom through the owner! Fit4mom combined three of my favorite things; being a mom, teaching, and exercising. I loved everything Fit4mom stands for and quickly knew I wanted to teach some classes!

Favorite Class

I really enjoy all the classes but strides 360 may be my favorite because of the games and all the running!

Favorite Workout Move

I like them all!

Use baby powder to get sand off of kids (or you!)

Why did you start coming to Fit4mom?

Funnily enough Fit4Mom came to me! I am an IBCLC and babywearing educator that rents office space in BeHive Wellness. I was approached by the Tysons/Vienna Fit4Mom franchise owner about potentially teaching classes and once I started looking into Fit4Mom, I was sold. I think connecting with new moms prenatally and during postpartum is so wonderful. As a parent to two young boys myself, I distinctly remember how isolating being a new mom can feel. I love being able to connect with others while teaching and facilitating connections between the moms themselves. We really are not meant to parent alone!

Hmm, Butt kickers? As a former ballet and jazz dancer, I love anything that will move me across the floor to music!

Mom Hack:

As a mom of two boys, always keep your mouth closed while changing diapers, and make baby wipes your best friend. Keep a pack in the stroller, in the nursery, in the diaper bag etc. They can be a tissue, a scraped knee cleaner, a tear wiper, and so much more!

Why did you start coming to Fit4Mom?

I was working out regularly on my own and my neighbor told me about the new Body Ignite class located close to us with the local Fit4Mom franchise. We started attending together and I loved it! The workouts were amazing and I really appreciated the conversation and sense of community. I also attended some Stroller Strides classes until my kiddos were too big to stay in the stroller. My son still asks if he can go with me again!

Favorite Class

Body Ignite! I feel such a sense of accomplishment from finishing a strength training class.

Favorite Workout Move

Deadlifts, by far. They make me feel like I can handle anything!

Favorite Mom Hack

For the early years - when my kids were babies, we had duplicate diaper bag items in a bin in the back of the car. So we could go anywhere and not be worried we forgot something in the diaper bag that day, because there was always a car dupe. Forgetting things was common - we had 3 kids under 2 for awhile!

For the older years - we do “Yes” days for birthdays. The joy my kids get out of them is incredible. In addition, I get a lot of information from them on what they are actually really interested in right now!

Why Did You Start Coming to Fit4Mom?

My journey with FIT4MOM began in 2018 as a franchisee in North Carolina! As a new mom, I craved a village, so I decided to create one! Fitness, fun, and friendships - what more could one new mama ask for?! The military moved us away, but now 5 years later, I am back full circle with FIT4MOM Falls Church, Vienna, Fairfax and I couldn't be more grateful to join an amazing, inclusive, uplifting group of mamas in the same walk of life as me.

Body Boost is my favorite class! I love the HIIT format and the challenge to push myself to give 100%!

When we're going out, whether to Stroller Strides or to a restaurant, we bring our "emergency kits" for the kids! Filled with coloring pages, stickers, a few of their favorite things. It allows us time to do what we need while they remain entertained. #NeverLeaveHomeWithoutIt

Ever changing! I tend to go with new seasonal options, and I'm visually stimulated so right now I'm loving Gingerbread Chai Lattes.

Why Did You Start Coming to Fit4Mom?

I was looking for mom friends and anyone who had any idea what they were doing during the pandemic. We had our first baby in August 2020. Got pregnant before all the shutdowns and then of course everyone was saying it would be fine by Fall (ha), and in the end there was nothing, no pregnancy groups, no birthing classes, no meeting people in doctor's waiting rooms. I've always worked out and been active and done sports so I started looking for mom-focused fitness groups and found Fit4Mom! All online at first but it was clear there was a great community there, and I was so excited for my first in-person class in March 2021. It felt like such a breath of fresh air. I have not looked back since.

Favorite Class

I love weekend Stroller Strides, and I've also enjoyed the online yoga classes and Strides 360 when I can get to one in person.

Favorite Workout Move

Banded rows are always a favorite, with or without lunges. Always adds a good element to the workout.

Mom Hack

Give them a choice when we have to do something they don't like, e.g. "we have to leave the park, you can walk to the car yourself or I can carry you". It tends to cut down on whining and tantrums about whatever they don't want. I also give warnings about transitions (5 more minutes at the park, pick 1 one more thing you want to do before we leave). It has helped a lot.

Why Did You Start Coming to Fit4Mom?

I started when I was looking for prenatal fitness classes with my first pregnancy and we had just moved to Northern Virginia. Fit4Mom became my community and now I have mom friends!

Favorite Class

Stroller Strides - workouts can be adjusted up or down in intensity and we get the best baby smiles during those mommy and me classes!

Peel the back of sticker sheets off for easier grabbing access for your little ones

Why Did You Start Coming to Fit4Mom?

I was pleased to discover a fit4mom when looking to find a mommy and me fitness class near me when I did a Google search in early January 2023. Once I attended my first class, I knew I wanted to attend many many more! It was exactly what I was looking for at that moment in my life to be able to get out of the house and exercise with my child (especially in the bleak midwinter!)

Favorite Class

I honestly enjoy them all, but if pressed, stroller strides is my favorite since it combines strength training, cardio, core and helps keep my baby entertained (and anyone who’s been around him knows he definitely likes to be entertained)!

Favorite Workout Move

I love a good combo move, so right now I’m really surviving with the “sumo squat/rear fly” with the band

Favorite Mom Hack

I’m still learning mom hacks, but something that works for my little one and myself is connecting his water bottle with a rubber tube to the stroller so he can’t throw it on the ground! It’s more for me than it is for him, but inevitably he’ll want that water bottle back and he knows where it is.

Why Did You Start Coming to Fit4Mom?

I got connected with F4M when volunteering with a kids running organization. I just love that there's a place for moms at all stages of motherhood where we can celebrate (and sometimes commiserate) all things mama-related while taking the time to care for our bodies and each other.

Favorite Class

I love love love Body Ignite! I always feel so strong and empowered after a class.

Favorite Workout Move

I'm a big fan of deadlifts! It such a great move in general but particularly for people like me that work at a desk all day!

Mom Hack

Instead of ice packs, freeze marshmallows in ziploc bags. It's soft and works well for younger kiddos who are more sensitive to cold!

Coffee Order

It depends on how much sleep I got! More than 6 hours it will be a drip coffee with a pinch of pumpkin spice and a splash of creamer. Less than 6 hours and I'm probably guzzling a venti white mocha.
